When we look at duodji aesthetically, we cannot talk only about one view. All depend on how we look upon a piece of work and how we interpret the values that they are based on. Someone will see the beuty in a duodji when it has an utilitarien value. Another will perhaps say that a special material gives a beauty, or when an item is well done, it is beautiful. But when we talk of aesthetics in duodji, it also means how it touches us in many ways. I feel that duodji is in a very exciting process because it is balancing between the traditional and modern life. Duodji with its traditions challenges the concept of “independent art” and innovative and experimental duodji challenges traditional duodji. That makes duodji a living artform.
